NYC Weekly Highlights: Cafes, food and the pink sky

Le Gaz

Le Gaz is a coffee shop in the Lower East Side that caught my eye with its red tones when passing by. I saved it on my Google Maps, and finally got to check it out during a lunch break with my colleagues. I like the red tile counter and cozy vibes , and there's also a clothing store in the back. I got my usual cappuccino, and my colleague went for the Vietnamese coffee. It was a fun coffee break in the middle of the day.

Silence Please

I found out about Silence Please, a speaker design studio that’s also a Listening Room & Tea House online, and had been wanting to check it out. So on our lunch break this day, we decided to walk over. It’s on the second floor, and you have to buzz to get in.

When we walked in, we were like wowww, amazed by the music and cool atmosphere. They have a spacious seating area, with a vinyl record section and a tea menu that I definitely want to try next time. We didn't have much time to stay today, but will defenitely come back again to enjoy the space.

Leon's Bagels

I’d been curious about Leon's Bagel for a while because there’s always a line whenever I walk by. But today, to my surprise, there wasn’t one when I passed by, so I got an original and a cinnamon raisin one. It had been a while since I last had a bagel, and I enjoyed it.

By the way, I've been walking out of work to a pink sky these days. It feels so good to end the day with such a beautiful view. I'm also so excited that spring is just around the corner!

BKLYN MACS

As soon as I walked into the store, I was greeted by giant macaron decorations—so fun!  The selection of flavors was overwhelming (in the best way), and I probably spent way too long at the counter trying to decide which ones to try first. The owner was super nice and sweet, and in the end, I went with pistachio, Nutella, and peach amaretto. (I actually had no idea what amaretto was at first—I just loved the colors!) Definitely a good place to stop by if you love macarons!

The Mandarin

I left home extra early today before work just to visit this café, The Mandarin. I love morning walks—everything feels so quiet and calm.

Stepping into The Mandarin, I couldn’t help but admire the interior—it’s absolutely beautiful. From the counter to the seating area and even the ceiling structure, every detail was stunning.

March so far has been all about exploring! and checking off places on my map I enjoyed matcha latte at Lê Phin , took morning walks before work, and finally tried Ole & Steen’s famous Cinnamon Social. I stopped by the Union Square Green Market, browsed Japanese stationery at Niconeco Zakkaya, and excited for the spring scenery in the city.
