I still remember the first time I walked across the Manhattan Bridge. It was my first visit to New York, and I had seen a photo of the city skyline and car lights streaking down FDR Drive. The moment I saw it, I thought, I have to go there.
Navigating my way on Google Map, I walked down Canal Street and found the entrance. I was so excited as I slowly walk on the bridge, and couldn't stop taking photos of the views—the streets view of Lower Manhattan, the skyline, Brooklyn Bridge, and Dumbo. It was truly a memorable experience.

Now, the Manhattan Bridge is actually part of my daily commute, and...the best part. I love that moment when the train comes out of the dark tunnel and you start seeing the the buildings, Jane's Carousel, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Manhattan skyline. No matter how many times I see it, I would still say to myself "Ahh so pretty". I feel lucky when I'm on the train heading home, and it was the perfect sunset moment. I remember there was a time that something happened with the train, and I was stuck on the bridge for quite a while. Although at first I was like a little impatient, but the sun was setting at the time, the beautiful view of the golden hour made it feel not so bad anymore.

I still go for walks across the bridge every now and then, especially when the weather’s nice. Walking around with my camera, I always feel like a tourist again—exploring, finding new spots, and just taking in the scenery. I try to squeeze in little walks before work or during lunch breaks, just to wander with no destination in mind. Honestly, I think that’s the best way to experience New York City.
