A Winter Walk at Rockefeller State Park Preserve After the Snow

We visited Rockefeller State Park Preserve a couple of days after it snowed, and the drive there was already so pretty. It really felt like entering a winter wonderland. In the past, we haven’t really had many chances to experience snowy landscapes outside of the city, so we both kept being like, wowww, it’s so beautiful on the way there.

Right at the entrance, I was immediately drawn to a tree with a bird feeder. There were so many birds around. I love bird watching, and being able to see so many different kinds from a short distance was such a nice moment. We stood there for a long time, and I honestly didn’t want to leave. I was just there watching them fly around, jumping between branches and walking in the snow.

I sent this photo below to the family group chat with a little challenge-How many birds can you find?

After a while, I finally decided to head in. We walked the trail, and everything was covered in snow. It felt really calm walking around. We walked slowly up toward the viewpoint, took in the views, and went near the lake. It was really beautiful but it was really cold and windy, so we didn’t stay too long.

On the way back to the car, I of course stopped by the tree again to watch the birds. I’d definitely love to come back when it’s warmer and spend more time in the park and bird watching.

By the way I found 10 birds in the photo earlier, my dad found 11 :D
